In a dirt car parking area near the Tathra Beach Country Club (Andy Poole Drive) you will find the start of some of the amazing Mountain Biking paths around Tathra. The signs indicate some of the possible paths that are accessed from this point and maps are available from Tathra Beach and Bike. A store near the BIG4 Tathra Beach Holiday park (just down the road). The maps are printed on cloth so they do not tear while carrying them in your pocket or backpack - ingenious.
The trails are maintained by local mountain biking enthusiasts and I understand they are suitable for all levels. We did see a large number of bikes in the caravan park.
Tathra Beach and Bike (02 6494 4357) hire bikes, make repairs and sell parts and equipment as well as offer advice on place to ride.
During June bike enthusiasts visit the area for the 'TATHRA BEACH & BIKE ENDURO'. In 2017 races included the Bega Cheese kids races Lap-It-Up 5km, 10km and 20km participation rides. While on Sunday you could participate in the Bundadung Tuff 25km, Goat’s Knob 50km or King Nelba 75km Races. A great event.
