We stayed at the Lakeside Resort Caravan Park in September and there was plenty of space for our van. This park is on Lily Creek Lagoon which comes off Lake Kununurra. The water level stays fairly constant due to the diversion dam built on the Ord River. Our site was situated overlooking the water and had great views of the lagoon as well as a wonderful vantage point to watch the beautiful sunsets. Plenty of wildlife to watch - we even sighted a freshwater crocodile sunning itself.

Each evening we saw thousands of bats flying overhead on their way to the fruit trees for a nightly feed. Plenty of bird life around the park and we were lucky enough to see Crimson Finches eating in the grass around the van. They are beautiful little birds and fairly rare.

The park has a lovely pool area and this is located next to the bar and outdoor dining space. There are dinner specials on most nights and this restaurant is popular with the locals. The amenities are fairly old but very clean and there is motel style accommodation available at the front of the Resort. The office will happily book tours for you while staying in the park. We enjoyed our stay here and would use the Lakeside Resort Caravan Park again if we are lucky enough to return to Kununurra.

We booked for 3 nights and ended up staying for 10! Lovely grassy sites and a great location make this park a pleasure to visit. Much smaller than most of the other caravan parks in town but very comfortable. Our site overlooked Lake Kununurra, which made our stay all the more enjoyable. Great sunsets and very peaceful. All sites are close to a central amenities block, which was very clean.
