The Grand Hotel is on the corner of Newton and Lister Streets in Monto, Queensland - directly across the road from the Community Rest Area. This rest area is situated behind the Visitor Information Cottage and alongside the old railway line - available for up to 72 hours stay in a self contained caravan or motorhome.
We stayed overnight at this convenient community rest area and walked over to the Grand Hotel for a pre-dinner drink and meal. We enjoyed a lovely chat with the bar staff and a group of people working in the area. Bruschetta for entree – 6 pieces for $5 which was great value. My meal was honey chicken and rice which was delicious and the steak meal came with at least 8 different types of vegetables.
Overall an enjoyable evening.
