Dingo Beach is a small township on the northern side of the Whitsunday Coast, about 50 kilometres from Airlie Beach in north Queensland. It is situated on Edgecumbe Bay on Cape Gloucester and is a sister city to Hideaway Bay - a lovely part of the coastline with beautiful, clear blue water.
Dingo Beach has a public boat ramp on the beach so you can launch your boat to explore the Whitsunday Islands. This is a great area for fishing and skorkelling - I understand that the beach is safe for swimming. Dingo Beach looks like a great place to relax as there are barbecues and picnic tables dotted along the beachfront - under beautiful shady trees.
We had been told to try the Dingo Burger for lunch at the Dingo Beach Hotel while visiting the area. This is huge - steak, meat pattie, bacon, egg, pineapple, beetroot, lettuce, onion and cheese so make sure you are really hungry or share with someone else.
