While staying at the Julia Creek Caravan Park we walked to Gannons Hotel Motel for a pre-dinner drink. Gannons Hotel was housed in an historic building that featured in the 1956 film A Town Like Alice, based on the novel by Nevil Shute.

Unfortunately this Hotel was burnt down in March 2015 and I am not sure whether there are plans to rebuild.
