Ivanhoe Crossing is on the Ord River near Kununurra in Western Australia. It is a concrete causeway that once formed part of the road to Wyndham. This is a very popular spot for barramundi fishing and we saw several people trying their luck from the shore. I have been told that there are plenty of crocodiles in the area, so it is not recommended that you stand on the crossing to fish.
Ivanhoe Crossing featured in the move 'Australia' (Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman) and is a very pretty spot. It is amazing how fast the water flows along this river with a constant supply from the Ord Diversion Dam.
