Blue Holes is a protected section of water close to Kalbarri on the West Australian Coast - about 6 and a half hours drive north of Perth. We were able to ride our bikes along the foreshore to take a look at Blue Holes which is a well known snorkelling location with a huge range of fish and marine life surviving in the calm waters.
This is a Fish Habitat Protection Area (FHPA) which is encircled by a rock platform reducing the impact of the sea. During our visit the waves were crashing beyond the area and it was quite windy but Blue Holes remained relatively calm. I look forward to visiting Kalbarri again and snorkelling at Blue Holes on a warm sunny day.
