We called into Hopetoun in Western Australia during our trip from Bremer Bay to Esperance. This is a pretty little coastal town which is near the entrance to the Fitzgerald River National Park. There are several beautiful beaches located along this section of the coastline - unfortunately it was cloudy the day we visited so the beaches did not look their best. Visitor Information can be found at the Hopetoun Community Resource Centre. (Tip - do not take your caravan into the car park opposite the Information Centre as it will take a lot of maneuvering before you can exit the other side).
We were told of some lovely drives into the National Park - check road conditions if it has been raining. You are asked to wash your car, boat and/or van before heading into the National Park to prevent the spread of weeds. Hopetoun is the first place we have seen a car wash that caters for cars towing caravans or boats. There is a platform down the side of one of the bays so you can see to wash the top of the caravan - this is a great facility.
