Triple J Tours - Ord River - Kununurra

We took one of the Triple J Tours that leave from the Lake Argyle Dam Wall and travel downstream to Lake Kununurra.  I highly recommend this as a "must do" when visiting this area of Western Australia. We boarded the speedboat belonging to Triple J Tours and were shown the sites along this part of the amazing Ord River. The rocky escarpments either side of the river are spectacular. There is lots to see - the skipper stopped several times to point out crocodiles, their nesting spots and any particularly interesting features along the way. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the Ord River and its history without overdoing the commentary.

During our journey we called into a private picnic area for afternoon tea - very shaded spot with sails over a number of tables and benches as well as toilet facilities. Back on the river and we were shown the pumping spots that deliver water into the canals for irrigation. At the end of this trip we stopped in a beautiful spot on Lake Kununurra to watch the sun set over the diversion dam wall - what a beautiful sight.
