Alexandrina Cheese Company - Victor Harbor

It was definitely worth the drive from Victor Harbor to the Alexandrina Cheese Company outlet on Sneyd Road Mount Jagged, via Mt Compass in South Australia. It is located on a dairy farm - you can order a cheese platter and sit outside enjoying the countryside while tasting some beautiful cheese.

Alexandrina Cheese Company is open from 12 noon to 5 pm on weekdays and 10 am to 4:30 pm on weekends and public holidays (closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day). You can watch the cheese making process through large glass windows behind the counter and taste all the cheeses while having each variety clearly explained. We really loved the friendly service and came away with some wonderful cheeses for Christmas and a homemade pudding from Castlemaine.  

This place not only sells beautiful cheeses but they have a range of delicious ice cream and locally produced goods for sale in the shop. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Alexandrina Cheese Company and would be happy to recommend this lovely experience to fellow travellers.
