Victor Harbor Winery and Hindmarsh Valley Goat Diary were just a short drive from our accommodation at Port Elliot. Victor Harbor Winery provides the tasting outlet for their wines and the goats cheese from the dairy farm across the road. Watch out for signs and slow down as the turn onto the Mount Rosa Road is quite sharp. What a lovely spot with an enclosed verandah looking out over the vineyards where you can sit and enjoy coffee, tea, cheese platters as well as scones jam and cream.
Head through the old wooden door as the side of the corrugated iron building and enjoy a warm welcome from Adrienne or Neville Scott - the owners of this lovely vineyard. It is a $2 fee for tasting of the cheese which I was happy to pay - great flavours and we purchased some yummy goats cheese for Christmas (my favourite was the goats cheese feta).
We also enjoyed tasting some of the great wine produced at Victor Harbor Winery and left with a case of Sauvignon Blanc - a 2010 vintage - delicious. This is a family winery that commenced in 1991 and they produce a range of premium cool climate red, white and fortified wines unique to Victor Harbor.
Victor Harbor Winery and the Hindmarsh Valley Dairy Goat Cheese tasting room is open 10 am to 5pm Wednesday to Sunday and Public Holidays. Highly recommended by RvTrips - a great way to support local producers.
