Brachina lookout can be found at a right angle bend in the Brachina Gorge Road - just before you exit the Flinders Ranges National Park heading west towards the Outback Highway. This lookout has a very large parking area, and the shaded shelters are lined with information plaques on the formation of the Flinders Ranges. A lovely place to stop for a cuppa and spend some time absorbing information about this amazing part of South Australia
Apparently this part of the Flinders Ranges has one of the best examples in the world of rock that dates between 640 and 520 million years old. Read about this and the Geological trails running though the ranges themselves. Plenty of photographs to take before heading towards Parachilna for one of their Feral Tasting Platters.
Brachina Lookout has wonderful views down over the valley to the Heyson Range in the distance.
