Riverside Walk - Surat

Surat is a small town in central Queesland betweenSt George and Roma on the Carnarvon Highway. It is located on the Balonne River and during our visit we noticed a lovely riverside walking track.  

This is a sealed walking track along the river bank which is lined with play equipment and exercise stations including a table tennis table, rock climbing station, and children’s playgrounds catering for various ages. A viewing platform has been built alongside the walkway with views over the river through magnificent gum trees. Public toilets are available along the path. 

We also found public toilets behind the town’s administrative building on the main road. 

Surat has nice wide streets and plenty of parking with friendly locals greeting us as we walked to the museum. We enjoyed out stop in Surat.
