Fishermans Park - Surat

Across the Balonne River north of the small town of Surat you will see Fisherman's Park on the right hand side of the Carnarvaon Highway. This is a camping area with toilets and picnic tables - you are advised to have your own drinking water and firewood.  

This is quite a large park and we called in to have a look about lunch time - it was already occupied with about 30 caravans. It had recently rained in the area and visitors were arriving early to grab a spot away from mud puddles. Plenty of space for privacy and larger motor homes with lots of shade, and close to the river which I understand is good for fishing. It is within walking distance to the town.

Surat is 78 km south of Roma and 116 km north of St George in Central Queensland - a lovely friendly town.
