Panjoo Lookout is adjacent to Hinchinbrook Lookout, about 19 kilometres north of Ingham along the Bruce Highway (Queensland). This is a great place to pull off the road and get a real perspective of the size of Hinchenbrook Island with large river systems snaking through the rainforests..
Panjoo Lookout was built as a second vantage point to give visitors and photographers an outstanding view of the channel and island - uninterrupted by power lines. The name Panjoo means ‘beautiful place’ in Banjin - the Traditional Owners of the Hinchinbrook area.
This is definitely worth a stop when travelling through this part of Queensland and is well signposted along the highway.
