Ingham is a town in northern Queensland about 113 kilometres north of Townsville along the Bruce Highway. This is a large sugar growing area. Sugar processing plants and a lot of sugar trains transporting cane were criss-crossing the countryside. Apparently this town is known as 'Little Italy" as more than half the population are from Italian descent - I am sure there are some great Italian Restaurants in town.
There is a large caravan park at the southern end of town which looks very nice and full of palms for shade with lovely grassed sites. A large wetland area with four and a half kilometres of walking tracks – TYTO Wetland - is a must see when visiting the area.
