The Airlie Beach Lagoon is situated right in the centre of Airlie Beach and has become the focal point of the area. When you want to meet someone you meet "at the Lagoon". If you want a great day of relaxation with no admission fee, "spend a day at the Lagoon".

Airlie Beach Lagoon has been created behind the shopping strip and is a wonderful facility for visitors to the area - open from 5:30 am to 9 pm. It is a great spot for swimming (without stingers) or you can just relax in the shade of the beautiful trees that surround the Lagoon. There are a number of shaded picnic tables around the gardens and we saw several children's parties being held here. There is a life guard on duty at all times - a great spot for kids to enjoy themselves.
There are very good showers, toilets and change rooms located beside this swimming facility. We loved riding our bikes along the paths that surround the Lagoon - take note of the signs as some areas are for walking only.
