Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort

Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort is located within walking of the interactive dolphin feeding experience held every morning on the beach. The Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort has a great range of accommodation:

• Garden view rooms and villas that can interconnect to sleep up to eight people.
• Family studio that will sleep up to five 
• a variety of backpacker and budget rooms with shared bathroom facilities
• Caravan and camping area with powered and unpowered sites.  Some sites have a beachfront location with great views over Shark Bay and easy access to the water.

Facilities of the Resort include:

• shop selling a range of grocery items, snorkelling and swimming gear (including sunscreen), souvenirs, fishing bait and tackle etc.

We really enjoyed visiting the Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort and ate at the Boughshed Restaurant several times - they had a daily luncheon specials which was reasonably priced and included a drink. The resort has well maintained gardens with lovely shaded places on the lawn to sit and relax looking over the blue waters of the bay. There are several spots along the beach to go fishing and a number of hire companies that rent out a variety of water craft.

The dolphins feeding is strictly controlled, only fed between 7:45 am and noon - each dolphin is only allowed a certain amount of fish to make sure they still hunt in the wild and not become dependent on human feeding. Of course you can see dolphins swimming around the bay at any time of day. We found the staff at the resort to be friendly and welcoming and we would definitely look at staying here on our next trip to Shark Bay - an absolutely beautiful part of Australia.
