We drove through Port Kenny on our way to Coffin Bay in South Australia - located between Elliston and Streaky Bay on the Flinders Highway. It overlooks beautiful Venus Bay and caters for the needs of the surrounding farms, local fishing industry and holiday makers. Jetty or boat fishing are popular at Port Kenny with a variety of fish to catch such as garfish, flounder, trevally, King George whiting, and Salmon etc.
It is a very small place on the Eyre Peninsula with facilities that include a hotel (with accommodation) caravan park, fuel station, takeaway, Post Office and general store. This would be a quiet, relaxing place to base yourself for fishing, or to explore the surrounding countryside, eg Talia Caves, Point Labatt Sea Lion Colony etc.
