The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is held in September over a 10 day period and the town parks are amass with brilliant colour. Visitors travel from all over the country to be part of this great event - in fact 2017 will be the 67th year.
Make sure you book ahead if you wish to stay in one of the caravan parks around town - we found out the hard way and could not get a spot during our visit. Luckily we were able to find a space big enough to park car and caravan near Laurel Bank Park (along Hill Street).
The Laurel Bank Park was very busy with spectacular garden displays, live music, local food and wine and activities for the children. During our visit one of the gardens had flowers displayed in the shape of iconic features from around the world. A platform had been erected at one end to enable views down onto the flower beds.
I highly recommend a visit to the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers - why not take advantage of the 'Park and Ride' option. Buses operate during the day to allow visitors to complete a circuit gardens on display at Kearneys Spring Historical Park, Picnic Point, Queens Park, Ergon Energy Flower and Laurel Bank Park - as well as the Food and Wine Festival.
