Moree Visitor Information

The Moree Visitor Information Cente is in lovely new building near the intersection of the Gwydir Highway and Balo Street with access via Alice Street - plenty of parking available. Rebecca was the lovely lady who helped with our inquiries and was most enthusiastic about things to do around town on our return to the area (we did not have time to stop on this particular day). 

Moree is well known as Australia's Artesian Spa Capital but is near the largest pecan nut farm and most productive plantation in the southern hemisphere. They run tours to the Pecan Nut Farm and will pick up from your accommodation - check with the VIC about the best time of year to see the whole production. There is also a winery close to town - Woolaway Wines and tours run to Lightning Ridge (about 2 hours away).  

The Visitor Information Centre sells a range of local products which includes Sorghum Flour (gluten free) as well as various flavoured Pecan Nuts.
