During our caravan trip from Narrabri, NSW to Goondiwindi, QLD we called into Moree to have a look around for a future stay. We enjoyed coffee from a mobile unit called Deluxe Cafe and purchased morning tea from Annie's Bakery across from Jellicoe Park.
The Visitor Information Centre has plenty of room for parking with the caravan and sell local produce as well as providing maps and brochures - great local knowledge. We discovered that a large pecan farm operates near Moree and is the most productive plantation in the Southern Hemisphere (tours can be booked at the VIC).
Of course we wanted to find out about the best place to stay for access to the famous Artesian Pools in Moree. The Gwydir Motel and Caravan Park on Amaroo Drive has four Artesian Pools onsite - varying temperatures. The Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre on Anne Street is open to the public with great facilities - Olympic Pool, Day Spa, Gym, Kids Water Park, Waterslide, Conference rooms plus a cafe. This is relatively new.
Moree is a nice looking town - I suggest you call in a judge for yourself.
