Kootingal is a small community about 18 kilometres from Tamworth in NSW - along the New England Highway. While staying in Tamworth we headed out to Kootingal Pub for drinks and dinner with a friend who lives in the area. It was a Friday night and the meat raffle was being held. This appeared to be a very popular night for the locals to meet and catch up on the week's events.
This is a lovely old country pub with a warm friendly atmosphere for - built in the 1950s with a covered verandah running around the corner of the building. The Kootingal Hotel has a nicely landscaped beer garden and children's playground for the family to come and enjoy lunch on the weekends.
We enjoyed out visit to Kootingal - winning a meat tray and eating home cooked pizza for dinner.
