During our visit to South Durras on the coast of NSW (just north of Bateman's Bay) we stayed at the BIG4 South Durras Holiday Park in order to explore this lovely area. This park is about one and half kilometres drive to the boat ramp allowing access to the beautiful Durras Lake. The boat ramp, picnic and car parking area for access to the lake can be found near the intersection of Lakeside Drive and First Street.
In this section of South Durras are several houses overlooking the lake - some holiday and some permanent residents with lovely views across the water. Durras Lake is a wonderful spot for swimming, fishing, canoeing or SUPboarding. The calm waters are protected by a forest and this is regarded as one of the purest estuaries on the east coast of Australia. The waters are really clear and we could see a number of small fish swimming near the foreshore.
Can't wait to head back with our SUPboards in the near future.
