The Cedar Holiday Cabins have a queen bed in the main bedroom which is made up with all linen supplied for two adults. The second bedroom has two sets of bunks which have linen and towels provided. The bedrooms are separated from a fully equipped kitchen and living area. There is reverse cycle air conditioning, HD Digital TV and DVD player. The ensuite bathroom has a shower and hair dryer. There is a separate toilet. Each cabin has a balcony with an outdoor setting.
I understand this two bedroom cabin (C32) in the BIG4 Grampians Parkgate Resort originally had cedar cladding on the outside. This has since been painted to match some of the newer buildings in the park. A great idea, which we think other parks could well afford to adopt. It is an older style cabin with some relatively new furniture and floor coverings.
The living area is small but adequate with racked ceilings displaying timber beams and timber cladding featured on bottom sections of internal walls. You will find a two and a three seater black leather lounge in this space with matching dining chairs at the rectangular table (two other dining chairs are sitting in the second bedroom, when required). This living area has a ceiling fan, air-conditioner and plenty of natural light. The kitchen has decent bench space, cooktop, microwave, fridge and again a coffee pod machine to enjoy a nice cuppa on arrival. The cupboards are stocked with a supply of cups, plates, glasses, cutlery, glass bowls and cooking utensils including casserole dishes. There are tea towels under the sink and a good size pantry cupboard.
This cabin has a separate toilet and good size bathroom – again plenty of natural light. The main bedroom has a queen bed, bedside shelves, hanging space, drawers and two mirrors. The room has been presented nicely with towels, face washers, soap, and toiletries displayed at the end of the bed.
Bedroom two has two double bunks with the top bunks folded against the wall when not required. I think these bunks are a great idea as the top bunk is not a climbing attraction for little ones who may be staying in the cabins. This room has a long cupboard near the door with plenty of shelving containing a range of spare blankets.
Table and chairs can be found on the deck which has views up towards the Boroka Lookout and some magnificent rock faces of the Grampians National Park. The trees in the park looked magnificent from this deck as they were changing colours during autumn. Of course there is a dedicated car parking space beside the cabin.
