Salmon Gums is a small town in Western Australia located 106 km north of Esperance on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway. The name is derived from a prominent stretch of Eucalyptus salmonophloia (Salmon Gum) trees which formed a landmark in the town's early days. The town is part of the Shire of Esperance. At the 2006 census, Salmon Gums had a population of 789.© Wikipedia

Salmon Gums is a small town in the southern part of Western Australia on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway. We stopped at Salmon Gums for a cuppa on our trip from Esperance to Norseman before heading across the Nullarbor. The Great Western Woodland surrounds Salmon Gums and the trees are quite amazing.
We stopped in a large dirt car parking area opposite the service station which is very convenient - plenty of shade (garbage bins) and well away from the traffic.
