We had been advised by fellow travellers to call in to the Gravity Discovery Centre located near Gingin in West Australia - about 110 kilometres north of Perth. It is a hands on science information centre - very popular with school groups and tourists travelling in this part of the country.
This is a premier science education facility in Western Australia where students learn about Physics and Astronomy, Gravity and Cosmology. They have a 13 storey platform 'the Leaning Tower of Gingin' built on an angle (15 degrees) to test Gravity by allowing visitors to drop water balloons through a tube at top of the tower. You can then observe their impact with the sandy ground below in a fenced in area (for safety). I found it a bit scary walking to the top as it is an open steel construction and very high - great views.
The displays are very informative and interactive where you can learn about the latest discoveries in science and technology and their relevance to your everyday life. We found this quite fascinating and well worth the visit during our holiday - they have a cafe on site for lunch or morning tea. The gift shop has some very interesting science-based items for sale plus a range of books.
The Gravity Discovery Centre is surrounded by natural bushland and a great place to view a huge variety of wildflowers - we got some wonderful photos.
