Cape Peron is at the tip of Francois Peron National Park, Shark Bay, Western Australia. This is a very picturesque spot with fantastic views - red cliffs, white sand and various shades of blue in the ocean. It was a very sunny day when we visited Cape Peron and even the clouds were amazing shapes because of the wind.
Dangerous currents occur off Cape Peron where the ocean and Bay waters meet - you are able to see a line created by the different colour water. If you walk up the red sand dunes you will see the striking colours of the landscape as shown in the photos.
Cape Peron is accessible by 4WD through the National Park and there are many spots along the way to stop for a picnic, fishing or camping (some places have toilets and these are indicated on the map of the park). There are two air compressors (located either side of the road) within Francois Peron National Park (just beyond the entrance) to adjust tyre pressure before navigating the sandy track. We thought this was a great facility which was well sign posted. RvTrips highly recommend a trip to Cape Peron as the colours need to be seen to be appreciated.
