What a great find on the Goulburn Valley Way in country Victoria. The Big Strawberry is hard to miss with the giant strawberry outside the mail building. The sign out the front advertised cheap strawberries so we stopped and headed in for our fresh fruit purchase. I was totally surprised by the number of people inside and the enormous range of strawberry products, and yes we did purchase a lot more than one punnet of strawberries.
You can pick you own fruit at certain times of the year - mornings are best, or just visit and enjoy breakfast, morning tea or lunch. They also offer tastings of the wines and ports - the strawberry port was delicious so that was added to my basket. The staff were very busy but happy to help out with questions and explain the products for sale.
I have been recommending the Big Strawberry at Koonoomoo to all our friends and will definitely call in again for some more delicious jam, chutney and strawberry dip (with chilli).
