During our stay in the lovely town of Bright, Victoria we decided to enjoy a morning drive to Falls Creek. This is a very winding road as it snakes its way up through the mountains. There are a huge number of popular cycling tracks from Wangaratta to the alpine region of Victoria and while travelling on the road to Falls creek we passed a number of bike riders going up and/or down the hills. You can find bike shops everywhere with hiring services as well as range of spares – we even noticed a large trailer built to carry a number of bikes up to Falls Creek to enable enthusiasts to partake in a down hill run.
Not far from Bright is a viewing platform that looks over the mountains – Tawonga Gap Lookout. Unfortunately it was a little misty on the day we arrived so views were not as clear as they normally would be. Plenty of parking spaces off the road and a viewing platform built on the side of the hill. In the centre of the car parking area is a dial showing you what you are looking at in each direction.
This is a beautiful spot only about 17 kilometres from Bright along the Tawonga Gap Road.
