Cohuna is a small town in Victoria located on the Murray Valley Highway between Swan Hill and Echuca. What a lovely place to break our journey and visit the Gateway to Gannawarra Visiter Centre to receive a warm, friendly greeting for the volunteer on duty. Check out the fish statue that sits above the lake and was part of the walkway in Melbourne during the Commonwealth games.
Cahuna is on Gunbow Creek which forms part of Gunbower Island - a great spot for fishing, canoeing, camping and bushwalking. There is a lovely caravan park on foreshore of Gunbower Creek which looks like a great place to stay in town - neat and tidy and close to the water.
There are plenty of accommodation option in town and a number of great dinning outlets as well as coffee shops. The Cohuna golf course was home to Stuart Appleby and is set among large red gum trees. There are a number of large dairy farms around town with warning signs about allowing cattle to cross the road - fines apply if you do not heed the warning.
