Lake Hart Rest Area

Lake Hart Rest Area is on the Stuart Highway in South Australia, just north of Woomera. This rest area overlooks Lake Hart and has plenty of space for parking when towing a caravan. There is a large covered area with seating to get out of the hot sun and information boards providing details about the lake. A water tank has been provided for water but warning signs indicate that it may not be suitable for drinking.

We parked here and walked to edge of Lake Hart for a closer look. An interesting walk across the red sand hills and the railway track to reach the salt which crunched underfoot.
