Cadney Homestead is one of the roadhouse and accommodation stops along the Stuart Highway in South Australia - about 154 kilometres north of Coober Pedy. They have a very nice pool area alongside the large dining room and bar - through a doorway from the shop counter. They sell a range of souvenirs and opals as well as takeaway food, and of course fuel. These roadhouses have very large entrances to cater for the roadtrains travelling up and down the highway - great when towing a caravan as there is always plenty of room to park.
Accommodation is available at the Cadney Homestead which also has a relatively large caravan and camping area adjacent to the main building. The service was great and the staff informed us that is was a very busy place during tourist season - we were travelling in November and the weather was starting to get very hot. I have been told that this is a great place to stop for the night with friendly service and good honest country meals.
