We enjoyed lunch at the Fish Inn Rockpool located at the end of The Strand in Townsville. This is a great seafood restaurant/cafe overlooking the water towards Magnetic Island. My husband and I shared a plate of mixed seafood and it was absolutely delicious - a very popular place and the meals come out quickly.

They have regular specials and we saw a number of family functions taking place in the main eating area. The Fish Inn Rockpool is open seven day a week and I suggest you visit during your stay in Townsville and enjoy delicious fresh seafood. You can even enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal from the bar.

I chose to eat here on recommendation from this site alone, and it was great! I had a standard grilled fish and chips, and although I was expecting a larger serving for what it cost, my piece of fish was fresh and cooked well and my side salad was yummy. It came out super quick too! The Fish Inn had a beautiful big dining area with amazing views of the beach and swimming pool! Would make for a great afternoon near the water for the whole family.
