BIG4 Walkabout Palms Townsville - Cabins

The BIG4 Walkabout Palms Townsville Caravan Park can be found on the Bruce Highway at Wulguru, Townsvile. It is a very large park with a range of cabins for those travelling without their caravan or tent.  We were given the opportunity to photograph one of their Eco Villas which are very well appointed and located towards the front of the park.

There are two villas in the Eco range that have facilities for those with disabilities.  A ramp leads from the car parking area for easy access and the rooms are spacious. The Eco villas are equipped with solar panels for power and solar hot water systems on the roof.  Separate toilet with a hand basin plus a large bathroom caters for the whole family. The main bedroom is sunny and the second bedroom has a window into the living area (I guess for light during the day to save on power). This bedroom has a double bunk and a single bed with a roll away.

Each Villas has a a well appointed living area, large verandah and space for parking the car in front of the accommodation. This BIG4 park is located behind a service station – they offer various discounts to guest staying in the park and also a fuel discount to BIG4 members. The shop at reception has a range of grocery items and a takeaway food counter.

Of course there are plenty of sites for caravans and campers including a large number of ensuite sites. This is a lovely neat, tidy and well maintained BIG4 park and conveniently located near the intersection of Flinders and Bruce Highways.
