Jack Taylor Weir and the Andrew Nixon Bridge allow travellers to cross the Balonne River at the southern entrance to St George in Queensland. Jack Taylor Weir was built in 1953 and below the weir (along the Riverbank walk) you will find a commemorative stone to mark Sir Thomas Mitchell's crossing of the Balonne River on St George's Day back in 1846.
