Springsure is a lovely little town about 70 kilometres south of Emerald on the Gregory Highway, Queensland. Beautiful scenery around the town which is located in a valley looking up to Mount Zamia and the famous Virgin Rock - amazing cliff faces. The school in Springsure looks to be quite large so I am guessing it is a regional centre for surrounding areas.
Springsure has a local shopping centre, bowling and golf clubs, a racecourse and showground, several hotels and a range of accommodation. Several buildings around this small country town are on the Queensland Heritage Register.
