Dungeness Point is accessed from the small town of Lucinda on the Queensland coast. This is a major boat launching area for fishing and boating off the mainland and towards Hinchenbrook Island. A Dugong Sanctuary exists in these waters and signs are placed around the foreshore asking you to be careful when boating.
There are numerous parking spaces for boats and trailers and shaded parkland for picnics, a Children's playground and spots for fishing from the shore. We even found plenty of space to park while towing the caravan.
This was quite busy during our visit with boats coming and going. Within walking distance of the boat ramp you will find Hinchenbrook Resort, Hinchenbrook Marine Cove Motel and a great looking pub on the corner to sit and enjoy the view.
