Royal Hotel - Hughenden

During out last visit to Hughenden we decided to walk from our caravan at the Allen Terry Caravan Park to the Royal Hotel for dinner. The dining room is fairly basic but the meals were OK and the beer cold.  Order at the bar and meals delivered to the table - my pasta with leek and mushroom was lovely. One thing that did surprise us was that a glass of wine was $7.50 but the bottle was only $15 - does not seem to be right.  

The Royal Hotel is conveniently located with plenty of parking in the wide street out front. They offer a variety of accommodation in semi-self contained units or family rooms (air conditioned with own bathrooms).  Most things in this small Queensland town are within walking distance and you will find a supermarket, post office, Visitor Information Centre and banks close by. The Hotel also has a swimming pool and barbeque area for guests.

Hughenden is a good stop over point when travelling from Charters Towers towards Mount Isa.
