Bob's Lookout is on the Mulligan Highway between Carbine and Cooktown. We saw this beautiful spot on our way north to Cooktown but decided to wait until our return journey to stop and admire the view.
Bob's Lookout is at the top of the Desailly Range - you can see for miles on a clear day. We enjoyed our lunch looking over the valley, the Savannah landscape and the mountains in the distance. It is well sign-posted and there is enough room to pull off the road when towing the caravan as you head south along the Mulligan Highway. There are no facilities at Bob's Lookout but well worth a quick stop to take a few photos.
