Daly Waters Pub is an iconic place to visit in the Northern Territory - about 600 kilometres south of Darwin - just off the Stuart Highway. Whenever we told people we were heading towards Darwin they would always suggest we make time to call into the Daly Waters Pub for the very famous Beef and Barra Barbeque. This amazing meal is served every night from April to October and is extremely popular - tender scotch fillet steak served with authentic wild caught Territory barramundi from The Gulf of Carpentaria - plus entertainment.
We called into Daly Waters Pub for lunch and to look around the collection of memorabilia from all around the world - bras (in all sizes and colours), name badges, notes and coins, hats, shirts, business cards - so much to see. There are loads of funny cartoons and sayings stuck around the walls which I found quite entertaining - you could spend hours just looking at this huge collection of stuff left by fellow travellers over many years.
We had a Barra Burger which consisted of a grilled piece of fresh wild caught barramundi and salad on a bun accompanied by chips - absolutely delicious. I understand meals are served all day but you are asked to book for the Beef and Barra barbeque evening meal. There are plenty of tables and chairs provided in the shaded beer garden and the toilets are out the back (of course). This was great fun and Daly Waters Pub is definitely worth visiting.
