Wauchope is a small town on the mid north coast of NSW - not far from Port Macquarie. We have travelled through this place on many occasion when travelling towards Tamworth or Armidale along the Oxley Highway.
Wauchope is home to Timbertown, a heritage theme park with a re-created colonial village and goldfield - including steam train, timber craftsmen, blacksmith and a bullocky team. Timbertown is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays but open every day during the school holidays.
There are several lovely cafes in town and regular farmers markets selling local produce grown in the area.
Each year Wauchope hosts the Mid North Coast Caravan, Camping, 4WD, Fish and Boat Show. This is held during August and highly recommended by RvTrips if you are in the area - easy parking, over 160 exhibitors and a huge range of caravan and camping equipment, plus accessories. We have visited this show several times and find it a wonderful opportunity to look physically look at the caravans on offer.
