Chaffey Dam Bowling Alley Point Recreation Reserve - Nundle

Chaffey Dam 43 kilometres form Tamworth in NSW and we stopped at the lookout to view dam wall - access via Nundle Road. This dam has been increased in capacity with extension of dam wall finished recently.   

A little further along the road you will arrive at the Bowling Alley Point Recreation Reserve which is a large camping area on the foreshore of the dam with an amenities block on the top of the hill. 

Showers are available at the amenities for a small fee - $1. The honesty box for the shower is located outside the amenities and allows visitors to enjoy a three minute shower. A dump point has been established beside the amenities block. Camping is available at a fee per night and an honesty box is situated at the entrance to the area - $5 per vehicle per day and fees help maintain the area.

Roads are good and there are plenty of lovely areas to set up camp with a number of caravans and motor homes staying in the area. This is a very welcoming place to relax for a few days - we would not hesitate to stay.
