Cape Hawke Lookout can be found at the end of Cape Hawke Drive just south of Forster in NSW. This is a truly beautiful location on the coast and the 500 metre hike through the rainforest plus a climb to the top of the tower (8.4 metres) is definitely worth the effort. Views are great from the top of Cape Hawke but even better from the top of the tower.
From the Lookout (tower) you enjoy 360 degree views along the coast and back across Wallis Lakes - from here you appreciate the huge size of this wonderful lake system. A perfect spot for whale watching and you will often see dolphins frolicking the the clear waters below.
Tips - remember to wear insect repellent as the mozzies can be quite vicious as you walk through the rainforest. Water is a must and don't forget to take the camera (binoculars are also useful if you have some).
Cape Hawke is located at the northern end of Booti Booti National Park. Highly recommended when visiting the Forster-Tuncurry area.
