We called into Daly Waters Pub on our trip up the Stuart Highway in the Northern Territory. The Daly Waters Pub Caravan Park is located right alongside the Pub and you are asked to pay for your site at the bar before heading into the caravan park - a fellow on a push bike would meet the caravans and direct them to a parking spot for the night. The caravan park was extremely dusty but offered plenty of shade and the caravans were able to stay hooked up overnight which is very convenient when travelling around this big country. They have a range of accommodation available to suit all holiday makers - cabins, motel rooms with ensuite, budget rooms, un-powered and powered caravan sites and a separate camping area.
This park can be very busy as the Beef and Barra barbeques at the pub are famous all around Australia - served every night between April and October, tender scotch fillet steak served with authentic wild caught Territory barramundi from the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Daly Waters Hi-Way Inn and Caravan Park can be found on the Stuart Highway - about 600 kilometres south of Darwin. We stopped here to refuel on our way to Mataranka and to have a look around. This is what we found:
Plenty of corrugated iron featured around the place - some painted with country murals, and it is even used to shade the swimming pool. The caravan park seemed to be neat and tidy with grassy sites. We would definitely stay here on our next trip through the Northern Territory - great location on the corner of Stuart and Carpentaria Highways with a friendly welcoming atmosphere - plus everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay.
