The O'Connell Avenue Cafe & Store

The O'Connell Avenue Cafe and Store is very popular for Breakfast, morning tea and lunch.  This quaint cafe halfway between Bathurst and Oberon, along the O'Connell Road, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am until 4:30 pm.

We called in one Sunday morning for coffee, but could not resist the goodies on display for morning tea.  I had been advised to try Dyaine's scones and I must say they were the nicest I have had for quite a while. The service is friendly and the Fish River Roaster's Coffee was excellent. This is locally roasted coffee and you can purchase supplies from the cafe. 

There are tables inside and out - instead of being numbered for the staff they each have a name which I thought was a lovely idea.  We sat outside in the shade and enjoyed this lovely country setting overlooking nearby farmland. 

The menu for lunch looked great and Dyaine is happy to cater for large groups - just give him a call. We spoke to several locals who visit the O'Connell Avenue Cafe and Store each weekend - this is always a good sign of great coffee and food. 

Highly recommended by RvTrips.  There are plenty of parking spaces alongside the cafe to ensure you are well off the main road.
