Coalmine Beach Holiday Park     Read more ...

We stayed at the Coalmine Beach Holiday when we visited Walpole during our travels around Australia. This Park is located on the shores of the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet about two kilometres from Walpole along the Coalmine Beach Road. This is a Top Tourist park and has a range of accommodation - cabins of various sizes, as well as powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites. (Sites vary in size from big rig to two man tent).

We had a drive-through site which was very large. Television reception is provided via an aerial socket on the power stand - make sure you check that your lead works before the office closes (I missed the final of my favourite show as we could not get reception and the office closed at 5 pm).

The caravan park is in a natural bush setting - surrounded by large shady trees. There are plenty of walking trails around the area - maps are available from reception and the Visitor Information Centre in Walpole.

Facilities at the Coalmine Park include:

  • gas barbeques available
  • three camp kitchens for use during your stay.
  • The toilet block can be accessed using a code - the new toilet block has ensuite type rooms
  • great for bird watching and bushwalking

The Coalmine Beach Holiday Park is a short distance to the Valley of the Giants and the Tree Top Walk where you will see the giant red tingle trees, Karri trees and the beautiful Jarrah as you walk through the canopy.

Rest Point Holiday Village     Read more ...

Rest Point Holiday Village is a large open caravan park that is located on the water front of the Walpole-Nornalup Inlet near Walpole in Western Australia. It is in a very pictureque location, about four kilometres west of Walpole and is surrounded by the Walpole-Nornalup National Park.

You can fish from the shore, jetty or in a boat - bait and tackle are available from the shop. There are a number of walking tracks around the Holiday Village or you can have a round of golf at the nearby Walpole Country Club.

Rest Point Holiday Village provide a range of accommodation, cabins and units, powered caravan sites as well as powered and unpowered camping sites (large, grassy and level). All facilities are available - barbeques, camp kitchen, games room, book exchange, dump point etc. This looks like a lovely quiet place to relax and enjoy your holiday on the water.
