We arrived in Port Hedland at about 2 pm in the afternoon and headed to the Discovery Parks Port Hedland (formerly BIG4 Discovery Park and Cooke Point Holiday Park). We booked in for our stay and unhitched the van before heading into town to look around. This is a very neat and tidy park in a nicer part of Port Hedland - on the coast overlooking Pretty Pool. We enjoyed a seafarer tour of the harbour at Port Hedland during our visit - highly recommended. Marble Bar with amazing rock colours is not too far away. There are a large range of cabins and caravan or camping sites for vehicles of various sizes. We received a friendly welcome to the park and enjoyed our stay.
Some local doves made a nest in the seat of a pushbike at the back of one of the caravans - see photo - just beautiful.
