Our articles have been grouped into locations so you can better read about what there is to see and do in a town.
It's easy, start by picking a location. Each article has a link to an RvTrips' web page containing more detailed information, photos and maps.
Kooljaman overlooks the beautiful waters that surround the Dampier Peninsula and apparently the sunsets are magnificent. Kooljaman is owned by the local communities and they are happy to share their knowledge of this beautiful land with visitors.
The road to Kooljaman from Broome is quite rough and sandy but it is well worth the effort to stay at this wilderness camp - suitable for 4WD camper trailers only. We had a tour of the area during our trip to the Horizontal Falls and this is a very popular spot for snorkelling, fishing and swimming.
A range of accommodation options are available - Safari Tents, ensuite cabins, log cabins, campground units, dome tents, bush shelters and of course campsites (no caravans).
There is a restaurant at Kooljaman - Raugi's which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (they do not sell alcohol but you can bring you own and there is a corkage fee per person). They will even supply meals to take back to your accommodation and cook yourself.
There is a small shop at Kooljaman selling basic items - frozen bread, long life milk, canned goods, bait etc. A 24/7 fuel outlet is located at One Arm Point using credit or debit cards - we find these outlets very convenient.
