This park is now called Discovery Parks - Balmoral, Karratha and is a seasonal park which is open between May and August - I guess to cater for all the visitors to West Australia during this time of year when it is not too hot.

Discovery Parks - Balmoral Karratha has ensuite sites have a level concrete slab for the van or motor home and annex. The powered sites are either grassed or paved and apparently not suitable for tents.

Karratha Caravan Park is conveniently located near the main road into town (De WItt Road) as you leave the North West Coastal Highway. This park is located on the edge of Karratha near the industrial area with a bottle shop next door and cafe onsite.
The AAOK Karratha Caravan Park is now under new management and provides a range of accommodation:
This is a pet friendly caravan park with easy access and plenty of shade. Barbeques are available for the use of guests, clean amenities including a disabled toilet and shower, dump point as well as a camp kitchen.
The Discovery Parks Pilbara is a member of BIG4 and located on Rosemary Road, Karratha - away from the Dampier Highway. It has a range of accommodation including cabins, bungalows, studio units and motel style rooms. They also have a range of powered and un-powered caravan and camping sites - some with ensuites. This is a large rectangle shaped park with one-way roads for easy access and plenty of shade - important in Karratha during summer.

The friendly staff are happy to advise and book tours in the area - we took the resources tour from Dampier, visited the North West Shelf Project Visitors Centre (one of the largest natural gas producers in the world) as well as a day trip to Cossack and Roebourne explore beautiful historic buildings.
The Discovery Parks BIG4 Pilbara is in a great location to access beaches, national parks and downtown Karratha with some lovely cafes and good shopping.
